It seems that babies are in lately, at least in Hollywood. Everybody is having one, or two, or three. Well generally I could care less but I’m somewhat interested in the Keith Urban / Nicole Kidman situation. Keith Urban makes some awesome music and Nicole Kidman is in some great movies. I was pretty surprised to hear that they were getting married a while back but from everything I’ve heard about them so far it sounds like they are off to a good start. I bet Nicole Kidman is glad to have moved on from Tom “I jump on couches” Cruise.
Anyway, they’ve just had their baby. Good for them. Do I care about pictures and the goo goo ga ga stuff that the normal entertainment news is always so concerned about? Not really. Let them be already. Anyway, it’s a girl. Sunday Rose Kidman Urban. 6 lbs, 7.5 oz. That reminds me of another thing altogether though. It’s one thing to keep your professional name when you get married. Totally understandable. But to give your baby a long name too? These people are supposed to be creative types right? Where’s the creativity in “Kidman Urban” as a last name? Mix them together or something or pick one. Not the biggest deal but if this continues from generation to generation there will eventually be kids running around with Kidman Urban Jolie Pitt as their last name.
The Dark Knight was released today. In a word it was amazing. In a second word, it was dark. We all had an idea of what to expect after seeing Batman Begins but nothing could have quite prepared us for just how devious this movie was going to be. The Joker was simply stunning. For many this movie will be bittersweet. Heath Ledger died tragically in January and for many fans this movie will be his legacy. We think so too.
The movie doesn’t wait long before showing the Joker to the audience, but we learn more and more about him as the movie plays out. He’s dark, mysterious, creepy as all get-out and of course funny. He’s so creepy though that you’ll almost feel bad laughing when he’s “funny”. Sometimes you’ll catch yourself and wonder if his mind games are turning you into a sinister clown too.
Seriously, more babies. Two this time. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt just had their 5th and 6th kids. Yes, this is big news and you should care. They are going for a world record of “Most babies in the shortest tiemframe”. Seriously they’ve had 4 kids in 3 years. Nothing wrong with that but it’s funny how the paparazi is all over their kids every single time. Congrats to them. If I had to bet money on it I’d say I’ll be writing a similar article soon enough when they have their next set. Maybe next time it’ll be triplets. Hey why not.
Political Analyst and “Meet the Press” moderator Tim Russert died Friday of of a heart attack. He was 58. He was recording Sunday’s “Meet the Press” when his heart failed. Resuscitation efforts were to no avail.
He had loved talking about this current election. It’s a shame he won’t be able to see it through. He had been diagnosed with heart problems in the past.
This summer boasts a strong lineup of potential summer blockbusters. Here are the top 10 we have our eyes on:
Iron Man: Robert Downey Jr. is Tony Stark of Stark Enterprises in this comic book adaptation for the big screen. It’s set to turn a lot of heads. It will be interesting to see how it compares with the other comic book movies due out this summer.
The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian:Â Not necessarily one I’m personally looking forward to after seeing the first, but a very big movie nonetheless. Who knows. Maybe I’ll be pleasantly surprised this time around. The first wasn’t that bad but it could have been a lot better.
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull:Â Harrison Ford is back as Indy in the 4th installment of the highly successful franchise. Let’s hope he can still crack that whip and take punches to the face. Shia LaBeouf will also appear this time around. He’s been rising fast and this movie likely will do good things for his career.
